Mission

Our mission is to spark adventure and wonder, foster inquiry and community, and build the character and ability of students to take on the world's greatest challenges.

About

In the 2017-2018 school year, Watershed provided an innovative, challenging education to 100 students in grades 6-12. 100% of graduates gained admission to a four-year college or university, and the students continued to demonstrate higher-than-average levels of intellectual and emotional engagement as determined by national studies (HSSSE and MGSSE). Our academic program included a project-based math program, lab science, diverse arts electives, literature, and social sciences. Most of these disciplines were taught in a unique interdisciplinary format that challenged students to connect academic content to real-world issues. Watershed's global programs took students to countries including Iceland, Guatemala, and China, and these programs were accessible to all students without requiring additional fees. Accessibility was also achieved by providing some financial aid to 26% of Watershed students. In 2017-2018, Watershed continued to be a force for educational innovation outside its walls. Watershed's program gained recognition by local news media, and the school provided teacher training to over 100 teachers at other schools.
