About
Colorado People's Alliance (COPA) is a racial justice, member-led organization that is working for climate, economic and immigrant justice. COPA is a member-led organization because we believe that those who are directly impacted by the issues should be leading the work for change. In 2019 we engaged the community in our efforts to move Colorado to a just & equitable transition to renewable energy in Colorado by working to create the first in the country office of just transition for coal workers. COPA fought for minimum wage workers by winning a campaign that allows cities and counties to increase their minimum wage at a higher level than the state, we then won a campaign in the city of Denver and increased the minimum wage for all Denver workers. We organized with immigrant communities and won a campaign to make drivers licenses accessible to undocumented Coloradans and we continue to fight against the profit from the incarceration of our immigrant community.
