THANKSGIVING POINT INSTITUTE IS A FARM, GARDEN AND MUSEUM COMPLEX THAT DRAWS UPON THE NATURAL WORLD TO CULTIVATE TRANSFORMATIVE FAMILY LEARNING. EACH OF THE VENUES IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE INTERACTIVE LEARNING;LEARNING BY DOING THAT IS BOTH EFFECTIVE AND ENGAGING IN TEACHING THE CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES PRESENTED THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED AT ASHTON GARDENS, FARM COUNTRY, MUSEUM OF ANCIENT LIFE, THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL CURIOSITY AND BUTTERFLY BIOSPHERE. IN 2018-2019 TAX YEAR, 1.765 MILLION GUESTS VISITED THANKSGIVING POINT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MANY EVENTS, PROGRAMS, AND CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS PROVIDED BY THE INSTITUTE. FORTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SCHOOL CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN FIELD TRIPS, AND THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS ENROLLED IN CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS, KIDS' CAMPS, AFTER SCHOOL AND EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS, VENUE SPECIFIC PROGRAMS AND CULINARY AND HORTICULTURE CLASSES FOR MORE IN-DEPTH EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES. THE ECO CHALLENGE, CURIOSITY IN THE CLASSROOM, TULIPS JOURNEY NORTH, GROWING LEADERS, AND THE JUNIOR MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM ARE JUST A FEW OF THE MANY PROGRAMS THAT OFFER INTERACTIVE LEARNING AND INSPIRE CURIOSITY. OUR PROGRAMS ARE ADVERTISED ON OUR WEBSITE, ON OUR MARQUEE SIGN, AND IN TWO QUARTERLY PUBLICATIONS, THANKSGIVING POINT GAZETTE AND AN EDUCATION CATALOG WHICH HIGHLIGHTS UPCOMING EVENTS, CLASSES AND DAILY OFFERINGS.
