Mission

Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs stuck in high kill shelters that are at risk of euthanasia. At the same time we strive to empower our volunteers who are all recovering addicts and alcoholics. Paws Fur Recovery aims to promote these benefits for our dogs and volunteers: - Encourages positive change and a sense of purpose - Increases self-esteem - Teaches trust again - Promotes responsibility and accountability - Decreases anxiety and depression in both the addict and the dog - Provides socialization for both the addict and the dog - Creates a symbiotic relationship of unconditional love and acceptance

About

Every year, six million dogs wait to be adopted from animals shelters — so many that nearly one million are euthanized each year due to overcrowding. Adopting not only gives a rescue dog a second chance in a happy home, but can also save it from being euthanized in an overcrowded shelter. Paws Fur Recovery rescues and rehabilitates these dogs stuck in high kill shelters that are at-risk of euthanasia.
