About this organization
Mission
The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center's primary mission is to provide visitors to the Yellowstone area an opportunity to observe, understand, and ultimately appreciate grizzly bears, gray wolves, and associated wildlife and habitats. All of the grizzly bears at the center lost the opportunity to live out their lives in the wild as a result of human/bear conflict situations. By helping with the education of visitors, their lives may help other bears remain in the wild. The greatest threat to grizzlies and gray wolves is the loss of desirable life-sustaining areas. Our facility is an active partner in current research projects that further the discovery of methods to minimize negative impacts of human development within wild land.

More than 159,000 people visited the center for the period of October 2017 through September 2018 expenses relate to these visitors and the care of the animals the visitors come to see and receive education about.
