About

The Sheridan story provides children with a weekend's supply of non-perishable food at the end of each school week, closing the weekend food gap when kids don't have access to free/reduced meal programs at schools. In the 2018-2019 school year (FY19), the Sheridan story distributed 816,123 meals to some 5,463 children in 205 schools in Minnesota. The Sheridan story brings a network-based approach to fighting child hunger. First, we facilitate the formation of partnerships between the community and schools. Then, the Sheridan story manages the logistics and food operations portion of the project. This includes sourcing, packing, storage, inventory management, and delivery of food to the schools. The community partners with the schools to help fund the program in their school and distribute the food to the kids.
