Mission

Our mission is to remove the negative impacts of hunger, and empower a child to get the most out of their education and development by providing them weekly access to healthy, easy to prepare meals.

About

Food for Thought Outreach Inc provides access to healthy, easy to prepare meals to children in need in Walton and Okaloosa County. We provide weekly backpacks of food to children living in food insecure homes. These children depend on the free or reduced meals at their schools as their main source of food. When they are not in school, they often do not have any food available. Our mission is to remove the negative impacts of hunger and empower these children to get the most out of their education and development. Currently, Food for Thought serves 32 schools in Walton and Okaloosa counties, providing backpacks for more than 3,300 students each week. Volunteer resources are integral part of food distribution, particularly in the packaging of fresh produce, bagging children's food bags, and sorting donated food.
