Upaya creates dignified jobs for the poorest of the poor by building scalable businesses with investment and consulting support. Since 2011, Upaya has supported 20 small and growing businesses in India with investments and expertise. As of December 2018, Upaya partners have created nearly 12,000 jobs. In 2018, Upaya accelerated the growth of 11 additional companies and selected two new partners for our investment portfolio. Through a cross-portfolio impact assessment, we found that 78% of these job holders rose above the extreme poverty line within three years.
