About

Education, awareness, advocacy, and support: APFED hosted our annual patient education and awareness conference, EOS Connection. We worked with the FDA and stakeholders to organize and host a Hypereosinophilic Syndrome patient focused drug development conference. APFED worked with the CDC to propose and justify new ICD-10 codes for rare eosinophilic diseases. APFED continues to advocate for medical foods coverage. We continue to develop and expand educational materials and the e-learning center. We developed, published, and distributed HES and EoE toolkits, and a new top-6 free cookbook. Started an initiative to educate and assist teens with transition and transfer of care to the adult healthcare setting. We continued distribution of education materials to healthcare providers on eosinophilic disorders and developed materials for grade school education. APFED actively participates in National Eosinophilic Awareness Week.
