PEI’s mission is to advance science literacy and deepen student engagement by empowering educators to teach real-world science outdoors. To accomplish this, PEI provides equitable, professional learning opportunities to K-16 formal and nonformal educators. We work to empower educators to offer inclusive, integrated, career connected, locally and culturally relevant, field-based learning opportunities for all students. Using the FieldSTEM model, we advance science literacy and deepen student engagement by empowering educators to teach real-world science outdoors.
