To help young children, primarily from low-income families, succeed in school and in life.
About
The school was created in 1969 by volunteers to address a community need - children who lacked basic learning skills and experiences entered school unprepared for academic achievement, and many never caught up to their peers. The school has provided nearly 3,800 young children with excellent early education and provided their families with parent education and support. Approximately 90% of the families served qualify in the 'free' or 'reduced' rates under USDA's meal service guidelines. The central campus full and part-day preschool program serves 80 3 & 4 year old students with high quality early education. Teachers conduct 2 home visits with each family every month to strengthen children's home learning environment. Bus service transports children within designated geographic areas to and from the program.
