Public Speaker ProgramsThe World Affairs Council presents public programs and events to support our mission to educate and engage the local community in national and global affairs. In FY 2018-19, the council presented 84 programs to our 4,134 members. Notable series for the year included Ambassadorial Legends, Leadership in the Boardroom, a Look Back at the Soviet Era and our annual International Perspectives series. Other significant programs featured Madeline Albright, Bret Baier, Michael Beschloss, James Clapper, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Doris Kearns Goodwin, John Kerry, Stanley McChrystal, John Meacham and Jorge Ramos. We partnered with Dallas Museum of Arts' Arts and Letters Live, the Center for Presidential History at SMU and the Parish Episcopal School. In addition, we partnered with Interabang Books to present free and reduced-price programs around Dallas. We spanned the DFW Metroplex and held six programs in Fort Worth. The council recognized the Honorable Ron Kirk with the 35th Annual H. Neil Mallon Award.
