Education & promotion of cultural fine arts to the local communities

Exhibition of innovative contemporary art by local emerging & mid-career artists for the purpose of promoting their work and providing educational programs including a forum for new art forms. Featured exhibitions consisted of: Picking up the Pieces-Artwork on Hurricane Harvey, Ben is Sleeping, Manami Ishimura-Sublimation and K Space Art Studio Holiday Extravaganza. These exhibitions were attended or visited by approximately 20,000 people. The Third Coast National Biennial Juried Competition ran from September 7 to October 5 which selected works from artists across the USA to showcase in the exhibitions. It was participated in by 1,757 people. Contemporary Art Month was held during April with 399 artists and 44 businesses participating along with local art organizations and colleges. Artwork was installed in businesses all over the city to promote local artists. An estimated 15,000 people viewed the artwork.
