Mission

The mission of Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation is to support Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to ensure that all Texans, today and in the future, can enjoy the wild things and wild places of Texas.

About

STEWARD TPWF's "Steward" program is focused on priority land conservation acquisitions. Since its inception in 1991, Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation has conserved over 170,000 acres of land across Texas. Powderhorn Ranch, a 17,351-acre tract of pristine coastal prairie on Matagorda Bay, was purchased by TPWF in 2016, and in 2018, TPWF successfully transferred 15,000 acres of the property to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to be conserved in perpetuity as a wildlife management area. Other program highlights include the continued success of the Texas Coastal Conservation Initiative and the Gulf Coast Conservation Loan Fund in leveraging private investment to maximize conservation of Texas' coastal resources following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
