Mission

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas provides a "home-away-from-home" that serves and sustains families of children being treated at area hospitals and supports community programs that serve the needs of children.

About

The Ronald McDonald House served 1,190 families in 2018, providing them with a "home-away-from-home" when their seriously ill or injured children were sent to Little Rock so that they could obtain the best medical care available. The Ronald McDonald House helps families stay together and near their sick child; sometimes their children who are receiving outpatient cancer treatment stay with them at the House. Families find the support of other families experiencing similar traumas with their children. Continued on Schedule O.In addition to 32 private guest suites, our Ronald McDonald House provides dinner every night and a stocked pantry for other meals and snacks, dining room, lounge areas, indoor and outdoor play spaces, hair salon, basketball half-court, laundry facilities, library and much more. All services are provided free to families. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile provides free dental care and oral health education to underserved children in central Arkansas. A total of 4,670 procedures were provided to 391 children in 2018. Many of these children have never seen a dentist before and their parents do not have insurance to be able to provide much needed dental care to their children. This 40-foot, state-of-the-art, fully equipped mobile dental clinic, travels to select elementary schools and summer programs in Pulaski, Saline, Perry, Faulkner, Lonoke and Grant counties. The Care Mobile stays at each school for two to three weeks to treat as many students as possible that desperately need dental care. It offers full service dental care including exams, x-rays, sealants, fillings, pediatric crowns, pulpotomies, extractions and other preventative and restorative care. Schools are selected for visits based on the highest number of students on a free lunch program and the number of children whose families have no access to dental care.
