Mission

To develop preventive programs for youth at risk, focused on a transformative model, through mentoring, experiential workshops and significant experiences in leadership and service.

About

is a non-profit organization that Jovenes De Puerto Rico En Riesgo (JPRR) since 1996 has distinguished itself by developing an effective prevention model aimed at youth between the ages of 13 and 17 at high risk of interrupting their studies and getting involved in criminal activities. It is a pioneer in offering one-on-one mentoring in order for young people to gain control over their lives and develop personal and social skills. Since 2011, JPRR has been developing the Continuum of Socio-educational Services for Prevention , a concept of education available to students at social risk with emphasis on the school transition stages (elementary to intermediate and from intermediate to higher) where there is a greater propensity towards premature termination of studies. Continuum projects prepare students for the post-secondary level starting at the elementary level. This concept of education addresses multiple risk factors through an integrated, transdisciplinary, and multisectoral approach that takes into account not only the stages of social and cognitive development of the participants, but also the family and community environment in which they develop.
