Self sufficiency: The purpose of the elderly centers programs is to offers comprehensive services in the day care centers to low income persons who are 55 years or older. The program is intended to provide favorable conditions and capable personnel so they may improve their physical and mental conditions by enabling them to reach a high level of self sufficiency and improve their lifestyles. The centers offers services as nutrition, social services, health services, transportation, recreational activities, among others. Also there is a program that combines hydroponics techniques with the traditional agricultural landscaping. The program will train the elderly and youth of low income resources in the creation of self employment micro enterprises. The goal is to provide low income communities with the alternatives and inexpensive ways to develop self employment.
