THE CORAL SPRINGS MUSEUM OF ART PROVIDES CREATIVE EXHIBITS AND ART EDUCATION, PROGRAMMING, AND CLASSES TO THE COMMUNITY OF CORAL SPRINGS.

About

THE CORAL SPRINGS MUSEUM OF ART CONTINUALLY ADOPTS PROGRAMMING TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE POPULATION IN THE COMMUNITY. THE MUSEUM'S PUBLIC PROGRAMMING INCLUDES INNOVATIVE SERIES FOR VETERANS, CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS INCLUDING AUTISM AND AT-RISK "TWEENS". THE VETERANS PROJECT, SUPPORTED BY MISSION UNITED AND THE FLORIDA HUMANITIES COUNCIL APPEALS TO VETERANS OF ALL CONFLICTS, INCLUDING SOME SUFFERING WITH PTSD. CHILDREN ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM WORK ALONGSIDE PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS WHO ENCOURAGE SELF-EXPRESSION AND CREATIVE SOCIALIZING. THIS PROGRAM IS SUPPORTED BY THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD. A RECENT GRANT FROM THE KNIGHT FOUNDATION AND FUNDING ARTS BROWARD, ALLOWED THE MUSEUM TO LAUNCH THE REGION'S FIRST DIGITAL MEDIA ARTS PROGRAM FOR UNDERSERVED 6TH GRADE STUDENTS. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDE MUSEUM TOURS, MONTHLY FAMILY FUNDAYS, CULTURAL "CHAUTAUQUA" SERIES AND ARTREACH, AN OFF-SITE PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR SENIORS AND SCHOOL CHILDREN. GUIDED BY PROFESSIONAL ARTIST EDUCATORS, ART CLASSES FOR CHILDREN, TEENS AND ADULTS ARE OFFERED IN THE STUDIO AT THE CORAL SPRINGS MUSEUM OF ART. THE GENEROSITY OF THE BATCHELOR FOUNDATION MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS TO FAMILIES IN FINANCIAL NEED. IN ADDITION TO ART CLASSES AND CAMPS FOR KIDS, THE CORAL SPRINGS MUSEUM OF ART WORKS TO ENSURE A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS THAT ARE FUN AND INSPIRING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. SEASONAL ORGANIZED "OFF SCHOOL" PROGRAMMING GIVES CHILDREN ART INSTRUCTION DURING THE SUMMER AND HOLIDAYS AND PROVIDES UNRESTRICTED, EARNED REVENUE FOR THE MUSEUM. THE MUSEUM RELIES HEAVILY ON SPONSORSHIPS, MEMBERSHIP REVENUE AND GRANTS. THE MUSEUM HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY BOTH BROWARD COUNTY CULTURAL DIVISION AND THE STATE OF FLORIDA DIVISION OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS.
