The United States Spain Council had its 24th annual forum in San Antonio, Texas on November 1st and 2nd, which focused on the following topics: the entertainment industry: a cultural bridge; the future of cleaner energies; and disinformation in the face of tech innovation. The forum brought together over 100 leaders from both the U.S. and Spain. The United States Spain Council announced its finalists for the young leaders program in July. The ten young professionals traveled to Madrid and Malaga, Spain the last week of September and first week in October for an immersion program in Spanish culture, including meetings with Spanish government and business leaders, in-depth cultural tours and conversations with fellow young Spanish leaders. The United States Spain Council honorary chair, Joaquin Castro and ambassador of Spain, Santiago Cabanas hosted an annual Hispanic Heritage Reception for the Council on September 17, 2019 at the former residence of the ambassador. The reception featured several members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, corporate and government leaders.
