To lead the county toward a healthier lifestyle by reducing the incidence of substance abuse through education, prevention, treatment, and recovery support.

About

For youth, SAC provides a multi-year universal substance abuse prevention curriculum lifeskills training in grades 5-8 in the county middle and elementary schools. SAC also provides an indicated prevention program in the form of education, prevention curriculum, and supportive counseling to adolescents and their families. Youth are referred to SAC by the schools, by law enforcement, the court system, and the department of juvenile justice. For adults, SAC provides substance abuse treatment programming in both day treatment and oupatient settings as well as recovery support services. For the community, SAC operates our county's substance abuse prevention coalition, SAFIR.
