The Alabama Writers' Forum (AWF) enhances the quality of life and economic vitality for all Alabamians by championing the state's rich literary arts resources, encouraging young and emerging writers, promoting established writers, and creating links between readers and writers.

About

Educating at-risk youth through writing our stories conducted in schools on campuses of Alabama Department of Youth Services, year-round, including school in intensive sex-offender training program (ABSOP, Mt. Meigs). Also educating at-risk youth in traditional schools, seventh grade. 2. Services to writers include promoting established writers' works and emerging writers' books through on-line reviews, a digital newsroom, and appearances at book festival. Readers and writers meet through public programs: Alabama Book Festival (Montgomery), Alabama Writers Symposium (Monroeville). 3. Writers are served through recognition of accomplishments: youth awards, Harper Lee Award for Distinguished Writer of the Year, and AL Writers Hall of Fame.
