About

The Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum KBGA is a 50 acre public garden located on the remarkable landscape of the historic Howell Nurseries. KBGA is located minutes from downtown Knoxville in the midst of a historic urban neighborhood. KBGAs mission is to preserve the historic plants and architecture, including rare specimens of trees and unique stone buildings. KBGA is developing the site as a regional attraction, which will help support the continued development of downtown and spur the economic development of East Knoxville. The grounds are open to the public, free of charge, every day of the year. We estimate a total of 35,000 visitors in 2018, of which approximately 25 are out-of-town visitors. KBGA supports local non-profit and civic organizations by providing access to meeting rooms on the property. KBGA has numerous events designed to benefit the local community, including a free family festival each fall. KBGA also provides educational programs to groups and outreach into the public school system and the University of TN. KBGA also features a community garden.
