FLASH in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provided mitigation information and solutions for buildings, communities, organizations and individuals through: (1) creative outreach activities; (2) stakeholder and partnership development; and (3) implementation of risk reduction strategies. Throughout 2018, FLASH continued supporting building codes and mitigation outreach across multiple social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, & blogs) , reached hundreds of businesses through the QuakeSmart Business Summits, released a building code commentary, promoted the ShakeOut, National Preparedness Month and the NHC Hurricane Awareness tour, and launched the DisasterSmart program which educates elected officials on building codes.
