The Society collects and exhibits objects and documents related to the history of Southeast Volusia County, with particular emphasis on the settlement founded by Dr. Andrew Turnbull in 1768. The Society promotes interest in the local history and culture. The Museum of History in New Smyrna Beach is open Tuesday through Saturday and staffed by unpaid docent volunteers. Vistors are welcomed with no admission fees charged and special tours may be scheduled.
