Mission

Oolite Arts' mission is to support artists and advance the knowledge and practice of contemporary visual arts and culture in South Florida. Oolite Arts creates opportunities for experimentation and innovation, and encourages the exchange of ideas across cultures through residencies, exhibitions, public programs, education and outreach.

About

Residency: Fourteen visual artists per year are awarded workspace residencies at 924 Lincoln Road, and benefit from exhibition and teaching opportunities, visiting curator access, open studio events, and residency opportunities at Anderson Ranch near Aspen, Colorado and the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The cinematic arts residency awards two South Florida filmmakers per year $50,000 each in funding to create new micro-budget narrative films. A special master artist in residence program in 2019 brought the renowned conceptual artist Mel Chin to Miami to create new work and mentor younger artists.
