About this organization
Mission
The mission of Learning Empowered, formerly United Methodist Cooperative Ministries Suncoast, is to alleviate the symptoms and address the causes of poverty through innovative educational programs. We work with children and families who experience intergenerational trauma as a result of pervasive poverty, institutional racism and various crippling factors related to those circumstances that adversely impact their lives. We teach the mechanisms and provide the tools needed to overcome the obstacles of trauma and poverty.
