THE COWETA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IS A GRANTMAKING ORGANIZATION FOR LOCAL NONPROFITS WHO PROVIDE SERVICES TO COWETA COUNTY RESIDENTS. THIS IS TO STRENGTHEN AND RAISE THE BAR FOR THE AGENCIES SERVING OUR COMMUNITY AND ITS CITIZENS.THE COWETA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION COMMUNITY SERVICE TEAM IS A TEEN BASED PROGRAM WHERE THEY LEARN TO ACT AND FUNCTION AS A BOARD OF DIRECTORS, LEARN TO AWARD GRANTS TO NON PROFITS AND PROVIDES A SCHOLARSHIP TO AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT IN THE PROGRAM. THE TEAM PROVIDES AN OUTLET FOR OUR NEXT GENERATION OF PHILANTHROPISTS TO LEARN ABOUT THE AGENCIES THAT SERVE OUR COMMUNITY AND ITS CITIZENS. IN ADDITION, WE ARE TEACHING THEM TO CONDUCT SITE VISITS/DUE DILIGENCE. THE COWETA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WORKS WITH SMALLER NON PROFIT AGENCIES TO PROVIDE FISCAL SPONSORSHIP TO ASSIST IN HELPING THEM TO ESTABLISH THEMSELVES, EVENTUALLY LEADING TO THEIR APPLYING FOR AND RECEIVING THEIR OWN NON PROFIT STATUS AND FUNCTIONING ON THEIR OWN. THOSE NON PROFIT AGENCIES PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS:- CANT NEVER COULD - DEDICATED TO HELPING INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS WHO ARE FACING ADVERSITY AND PERSONAL BATTLES THROUGH GRANTS.- STEPPING STONES- AN EARLY EDUCATION INTERVENTION PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES MATERIALS AND RESOURCES TO NEW MOTHERS, WHICH LINKS THE CHILD TO THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IN OUR COUNTY.-COWETA STEM INSTITUTE- AN ORGANIZATION THAT PROMOTES INTEREST AND ENTHUSIASM IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR COWETA CHILDREN. KERIS KARES- A FOUNDATION THAT IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING HOPE FOR FAMILIES DEALING WITH CHILDHOOD CANCER DIAGNOSIS. THEY ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH RAISING AWARENESS AND PROVIDING MONETARY ASSITANCE TO THE FAMILIES THROUGH GRANTS AND TO ORGANIZATIONS WHO CONDUCT RESEARCH TO FIND CURES FOR PEDIATRIC CANCERS.
