Atlanta Streets Alive In 2018, we more closely aligned Atlanta Streets Alive with key street campaigns and enhanced advocacy in our largest program. We reclaimed 11+ miles of our city streets as a public space for the people of Atlanta and connected 22 neighborhoods with our three open streets activations. The debut of our Atlanta Streets Alive - Eastside activation connected 11 neighborhoods and attracted 74,000 participants, highlighting the public demand for the jeopardized Complete Street project originally planned for the DeKalb Avenue corridor in the Renew Atlanta infrastructure bond. This resulted in outstanding attendance and public participation at the subsequent Renew Atlanta community meeting about the project. Participation jumped to 134,000 for the return of the Westside route to celebrate Marietta Street resurfacing and demonstrate support for the Howell Mill Road Complete Street project.
