Hammonds House Museum and Resource Center of African American Art is a fine arts venue whose mission is to preserve, exhibit, and increase public awareness about the contributions that visual artists of African descent have made to world culture.

Exhibitions program: to develop the Hammonds House as a national exhibition facility that maintains and expands African-American art holding and creates traveling exhibitions. Resource center and education: this program develops educational programs to stimulate awareness of African-American artists. A research library with books and computers is also provided. Curatorial and conservatorial: the Fulton County government of the state of Georgia owns the facility as well as the Hammonds collection and donates the use of both to the Hammonds House Gallery at a cost of $1 per year.
