About this organization
Mission
Trees Atlanta protects and enhances Atlanta’s urban forest by planting, conserving, and educating. We engage diverse community support and volunteer service within neighborhoods across metro Atlanta. Trees are iconic to our city. They clean our air and water, reduce temperatures, and provide beauty and wildlife habitat within our urban spaces. In February 2020, we announced the One Million Trees Initiative, a 10-year plan to preserve or plant one million trees throughout metro Atlanta in partnership with 10 other leading environmental non profits. We also have 10 local municipalities or county governments as committed partners; those willing to expand their own tree conservation and planting activities while promoting the program and its benefits to their constituents.
