About

Public education. We create experiences that spark curiosity about the natural world. Over 16,000 children annually experience our public education programming either at the nature center or in their classrooms thanks to our traveling animal ambassador team. This year our educators began focused outreach to Hamilton County schools like Calvin Donaldson to introduce nature-based learning opportunities for all. We created three forest kindergarten sites and host the Wauhatchie School's headquarters. We also collaborate with them on our forest homeschool, integrating academics with naturalist skills and outdoor exploration. Public programming includes our certificate in native plants, a collaborative program with TN Valley Wild Ones.
