Jazz House Programs: At the Jazz House facility in Montclair, students ages 8 to 18 from 50 New Jersey communities participate in year-round jazz ensemble and pre-college programs with Jazz House Kids professional teaching artists. Students receive an average of 3.25 hours of instruction and performance each week. Nearly 35% of students are offered greatly reduced, need-based tuition assistance. The CHiCA Power initiative significantly increases female participation in instrumental music ensembles at the Jazz House. Since this all-girls program began in 2011, female participation has increased by 250% and continues to grow. Each year, 100% of high school seniors studying at the Jazz House in Montclair go on to attend college, with many receiving major scholarships.
