About this organization
Mission
The mission of Central Park NC is to regrow the regional economy through the sustainable use of the region's natural and cultural resources. We are an 8-county rural sustainable economic development non-profit organization that focuses on small business development – particularly small businesses that have an affinity with the region's existing creative and natural resource-based assets and can embed permanently in the local economy.
About
Served an eight county area as an education and advocacy resource supporting efforts to protect the natural environment and cultural resources of the area. Programming included workshops, seminars, small business networking, small town revitalization and community development and Starworks Center for Creative Enterprise. Starworks focused primarily on arts and cultural resource related educational programs, particularly those that allowed individual artists to expand their productions, portfolios and incomes. Starworks provided various residency opportunities for 24-30 artists from all over the world.
