The mission of Nami North Carolina is to provide support, education, advocacy, and public awareness so that all affected by mental illness can build better lives.

Nami NC supports individuals living with mental illness and their families by holding state program leader trainings. These trainings ensure that Nami affiliates across North Carolina have enough teachers, mentors, facilitators, and presenters to conduct free Nami signature programming within their communities. These trainings support educational classes and support groups for individuals living with mental illness and their families, as well as community presentations geared towards introducing the subject of mental illness and breaking down associated stigma. In 2017-2018, 105 new program leaders were trained. Nami North Carolina operates a statewide warmline during normal business hours. The warmline provides information, support, resources, and referrals for people affected by mental illness.
