About
Leadership training and developing the potential of women throughout the year, the league provided various opportunities for members to gain leadership skills. The year began with a leadership retreat for the new board of directors, chairs, and co-chairs providing training on league procedures, Roberts rules of order, agendas and minutes, communication skills, and the creation of annual plans. We had our mid-year retreat with all of our members to discuss our community focus issue and held a training on overcoming self-doubt. Furthermore, each member gained experiential leadership training through their league placement on a council where they are tasked with an operating function or program of the league. Members learn how to run an effective meeting and how to take an idea and make it a reality. We also sent various members to trainings held by the association of junior leagues international to refine their leadership skills. Members that
