Theatre Charlotte's mission is 'to create outstanding theatre opportunities accessible and relevant to the people of the Charlotte region.' Theatre Charlotte's FY19 programming included the main stage series of 5 productions, our annual holiday production, grand nights for singing, and our 2 summer youth intensives. The main stage series included the Peter and the Starcatcher, the Philadelphia Story, Ain't Misbehavin', Terms of Endearment and the musical the Producers. For the 12th consecutive season, we produced a Christmas Carol. Our 2 summer youth intensives included TCJR, ages 9-14 and the student theatre guild, ages 14 through college. Both are modeled after professional summer stock. TCJR rehearsed and performed Beauty and the Beast Jr. STG rehearsed and performed Young Frankenstein. Grand nights for singing performed a cabaret event in January. Our productions feature diverse casts in terms of race, ethnicity, gender and age. We post the following statement on all audition notices: Theatre Charlotte is committed to diversity on our stage and in our audience. People of color are encouraged to audition.
