A NATIONAL MAIN STREET COMMUNITY SINCE 2005, THE REVITALIZATION OF DOWNTOWN LAKEWOOD CONTINUES AS A PRIMARY FOCUS OF LAKEWOODALIVES ACTIVITY WHICH INCLUDES HOSTING LARGE-SCALE SPECIAL EVENTS, FACILITATING THE DOWNTOWN LAKEWOOD BUSINESS ALLIANCE (MERCHANT ASSOCIATION), ASSISTING WITH AESTHETIC AND DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS, AND MORE. LAKEWOODALIVE ALSO SEEKS TO ASSIST OTHER COMMERCIAL CORRIDORS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. HOUSING OUTREACH PROGRAM: LAKEWOODALIVE ADMINISTERS A HOUSING OUTREACH PROGRAM WHICH CONNECTS RESIDENTS WITH RESOURCES TO MAINTAIN THE COMMUNITY'S AGING HOUSING STOCK. THESE SERVICES ARE DESIGNED TO OFFER A ONE-STOP PLACE FOR RESIDENTS TO ENSURE THEY ARE ABLE TO LIVE IN HEALTHY AND SAFE HOUSING: O WORKING ONE-ON-ONE WITH LOW-MODERATE INCOME RESIDENTS, MANY OF WHOM ARE SENIOR CITIZENS, TO CONNECT THEM TO RESOURCES, AS WELL AS TO VOLUNTEER LABOR TO COMPLETE NECESSARY HOME MAINTENANCE.
