The mission of the Mercer County Humane Society is the prevention of cruelty to animals, providing relief for suffering among animals as well as for extension of humane education. In addition, the organization provides humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area served by the humane society and seeks the return of lost animals to their owners and suitable homes for animals without owners. This is accomplished by assisting the Mercer County Animal Shelter by paying veterinarian expenses, vaccinations, dewormer and purchasing food for the animals when supplies run low. The humane society also raises funds to assist the Mercer County Animal Shelter with special projects as needed. No funds are used for payment of salaries.
