About this organization
Mission
Bridges to Prosperity envisions a world where poverty caused by rural isolation no longer exists. Rural isolation is a root cause of poverty, and we believe that connection is the foundation to opportunity. We work with local communities, partners and foundations, to build footbridges that connect residents to education, health care and economic opportunity. With a sophisticated data collection and evaluation program, we are able to prove that the value and impact of our work is sustained long after the opening celebration.
About
In 2019, Bridges to Prosperity provided connection for 115,259 people through the completion of 31 trailbridges. Additionally, in July of 2019, Bridges to Prosperity officially launched our first nation-wide connectivity collaboration, in partnership with the Rwandan Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, the Ministry of Local Government, the Rwanda Transport Development Agency, and the Local Administrative Entities Development Agency. The collaboration aims to provide safe access for over 1.1 million Rwandese by 2024, and represents an unprecedented opportunity for us to explore, and prove, the transformative impact of nation-wide rural connectivity through a large-scale, third-party research initiative. More detail is provided in our 2019 impact report available on our website.
