Mission

Women Thrive Worldwide envisions a world where women, girls, men, and boys enjoy equal rights and opportunities. We believe that a safer, more prosperous and equitable world can only be achieved when women and girls assert their rights by challenging the status quo.

About

Advocacy: In 2017, we launched our #intheroom campaign following the results of the first annual national SDG scorecard data collection tool. The scorecard data highlighted that 67% of alliance members were being left out of national-level SDC-related decision-making processes. We transformed this data into the #intheroom campaign to mobilize stakeholders and call on global-level decision-makers to include grassroots women's rights advocates in decision-making rooms. The campaign garnered over 7 million online impressions; 5 major endorsements at the UN; 250+ international organizations adopted the hashtag; and 5 governments and UN decision-makers received the data and recommendations. With the U.S. government, we worked with our alliance members to denounce the FY2018 proposed budget cuts for foreign assistance and gender equality, sending letters from grassroots women's rights advocates to congressional offices and the White House. We also added our voice to 30 advocacy actions targeting U.S. government-related development policies, foreign aid and assistance and women's rights.
