THE LAMBI FUND'S MISSION IS TO WORK WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS IN HAITI TO SUPPORT EFFORTS TO CHANGE THE LIVING CONDITIONS OF RURAL COMMUNITIES IN A CONTEXT OF DEMOCRACY, SOCIAL JUSTICE AND SUSTAINABLE, DEVELOPMENT. THE LAMBI FUND OF HAITI SETS ITS PRIORITY FOCUS ON RURAL FARMING. THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, ENVIRONMENT, ALTERNATIVE ECONOMY, AND TRAINING/CAPACITY BUILDING/ADVOCACY. THE LAMBI FUND SUPPORTS THE SPECIFIC PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND IN ADDITION PROVIDES TRAINING AND EDUCATION SPECIFIC TO EACH PROJECT TO BUILD ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY AND SKILL SETS NEEDED FOR LONGEVITY AND SUSTAINABILITY.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PORTFOLIO IS THE LARGEST PROGRAM IN 2018 THAT IS COMPRISED OF SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN THE FORM OF 12 OX- PLOWING, 3 MILLS, 1 MANGO PRODUCTION, 1 COFFEE PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION OF LEGUMES IN LAMBI FUND CPP FARM; ANIMAL HUSBANDRY WITH 7 GOAT BREEDING PROJECTS. EACH PROJECT IMPROVES PARTNERS' LIVELIHOODS AND INCOME. THE MEMBERSHIP TOTAL OF 2018 OF LAMBI FUND WAS 3,652 INDIVIDUALS; WOMEN ACCOUNTING FOR 2,422 (66.3%) AND 1230 MEN OR (33.7%.) ADDITIONALLY THOSE PROJECTS BENEFIT PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY WHO ARE NOT MEMBERS. FOR EXAMPLE, 2000 PEOPLE IN THE POPULATION (MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS) HAVE ACCESS TO PRODUCTS PROCESSED THROUGH THE MILLS. BELOW IS A BREAKDOWN OF HOW THE PROJECTS PROMOTE LONG-TERM BUILDING AND THE NUMBER OF LIVES THAT BENEFITTED FROM THEM IN 2018: SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE. SOME OXEN AND PLOWS DISAPPEARED DURING THE IMPACT OF HURRICANE MATTHEW, RESULTING IN LOST CROPS THEREAFTER. USING AN OX-PLOW ALLOWS FASTER PREPARATION OF LAND FOR PLANTING AND INCREASE IN CROP YIELD. IN 2018, 6 COMPLETE OX-PLOWS (OXEN, PLOWS, ACCESSORIES) AND VET SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO THE PROJECT WORKFORCE FOR PLOWING PROCESS. THE IMPACT WAS ASTONISHING. MORE LAND WAS CULTIVATED. MORE PEOPLE WERE INTERESTED IN AGRO-ACTIVITIES, WHICH YIELDED IN INCREASE IN PRODUCTION. 60,000 MANGO TREES AND 120,000 COFFEE AND COCOA TREES WERE PRODUCED. CPP YIELDED FIVE TIMES OF ITS PLANTING OF LEGUMES AND PRODUCED 20,000 SEEDLINGS. STORAGE OF GRAIN PROGRAM (CORN, PEANUTS, LEGUMES) BROUGHT IN 1389 IN INCOME AND ADDED BENEFITS TO THE FARMERS WHO HAVE GRAIN AVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING PLANTING SEASON. THE CONSTRUCTION OF MILLS ALLOWED THE FARMERS TO PROCESS THEIR GRAINS LOCALLY AND HAVE ACCESS TO THE PROCESSED PRODUCTS WITHIN THE POPULATION. ANIMAL HUSBANDRY. THE GOAT BREEDING PROJECTS WERE VERY SUCCESSFUL IN ALLOWING PARTNERS TO GAIN INCOME AND ECONOMIC VERSATILITY. GOATS CAN BE USED AS A FOOD SOURCE SUCH AS MILK, CHEESE, AND MEAT FOR PERSONAL USE OR SOLD. WHEN THE GOATS BEGIN TO HAVE OFFSPRING, THOSE CAN BE SOLD OR USED TO GROW THE PARTNERS' FOOD SOURCE ENTERPRISE. THE LAMBI FUND ADDED 206 GOATS (188 FEMALES, 18 MALES) FOR BREEDING, BETWEEN 2 ORGANIZATIONS: OPDTM AND AFVF. TO SUPPORT THE PROJECTS, 10 PARKS AND PASTURE LAND WERE PROVIDED, VET PHARMACIES WERE IMPLEMENTED, VET TECHNICIANS SERVICES WERE RETAINED, AND TRAINING CONDUCTED. AS OF THE END OF THE YEAR, THE 206 GOATS YIELDED ANOTHER 239 GOATS FOR A TOTAL OF 445 GOATS. THOSE GOATS, ADDED TO YIELDING OF PREVIOUS HERDS OF GOATS, WERE DISTRIBUTED TO MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS.
