Shepherd's Table is a nonprofit organization in downtown Silver Spring, supported by volunteers, religious organizations, government, businesses, foundations, and individual donors. Our mission is to provide help to people who are homeless or in need by providing basic services, including meals, social services, information and referral, medical support, clothing, and other assistance in an effective and compassionate manner.

The clothes closet is one of the organization's three main areas of service. The goal of each of our program areas is to meet the needs of those living in poverty and those living without homes in our community. The clothes closet functions as a resource for those who regularly access services at Shepherd's Table. All of Shepherd's Table services are located in Progress Place, a county owned facility in downtown Silver Spring. We do not pay rent or utilities. In addition, we have a strong volunteer base who serve in a variety of ways. For the clothes closet, an average of 15 volunteers serve each month, giving approximately 60 hours of service each month.
