In FY2019, BCCC participated in the launch of the Grads2Career initiative, providing workforce training and support services for recent high school graduates. In the first year, a total of 17 students participated in either an IT/pre-cybersecurity of a cabling telecommunications training program. Eleven (11) of those students successfully completed the program and seven (7) are currently employed. In addition to training and job placement services, the workforce development division of the college (WDCED) also worked with a community partner to provide these students with complete wraparound services to meet their unique needs. These services included general barrier removal, case management, transportation assistance, and 25 hours of student success coaching.
