About
Child protection: through the child protection unit, Partners works to prevent and eradicate child labor, forced labor, human trafficking and promote acceptable conditions of work, and school based violence prevention, in Latin America and the Caribbean. Moreover, our programs under the child protection unit also target school based violence prevention. Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), U.S. Department of State (DOS), and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the child protection unit executes a portfolio of $17.5m. Partners' qualitative contributions focus on strengthening institutions and capacity building of multi-sector stakeholders, governments and civil society, and also from a quantitative perspective by providing direct services related to livelihoods, education, youth employability and violence prevention. In respect to the prevention/eradication of child labor, our projects Educafuturo in Ecuador and Panama, and Paraguay Okakuua in Paraguay enrolled 7,057 children and 3,565 youth in educational spaces, and 2,976 beneficiary households in economic development services from 2012 to 2018.
