THE MISSION OF EASTSIDE CHARTER SCHOOL IS TO EDUCATE CHILDREN IN A SAFE, CARING AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT SO THAT THEY CAN EXCEL ACADEMICALLY AND SOCIALLY. WE BELIEVE THAT ALL CHILDREN ARE CAPABLE OF MASTERING CONTENT STANDARDS AND MEETING SOCIAL EXPECTATIONS WHEN THEY HAVE THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING, ADEQUATE TIME AND APPROPRIATE SUPPORT. EASTSIDE CHARTER SCHOOL OPERATES A PRE-K TO 8TH GRADE URBAN PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL SERVING 422 STUDENTS IN NORTHEAST WILMINGTON, DELAWARE, ONE OF THE POOREST AREAS IN THE STATE. ABOUT 87% OF THE STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH UNDER FEDERAL GUIDLINES. EASTSIDE CHARTER CREATED A CENTRAL OFFICE OF 7 INDIVIDUALS TO HELP MANAGE BOTH SCHOOLS. CHARTER SCHOOL OF NEW CASTLE IS A K-8 URBAN CHARTER SCHOOL WITH 805 STUDENTS.
