The Center for Community Transitions strengthens our community by helping people with criminal records and their families find a healthier and more productive way of living.

Center for Women is a 30 bed residential facility for women who are still incarcerated and serving out their final years of their prison sentence. The Center helps women successfully transition from prison to their family and community while upholding the standards of the NC Department of Public Safety. This program design is very close to the European prison model. Program components include work release, education, volunteer participation, counseling, domestic violence treatment, financial literacy and family reunification. Those released in FY17 have not been rearrested as of the last day of FY19, showing a 0% recidivism rate.
