EXHIBITIONS AND THE DRAWERS: BLUE SKY OFFERS AN AMBITIOUS SCHEDULE OF 20 -24 SOLO PHOTOGRAPHY SHOWS EACH YEAR. FOR FY 17-18, 14 WERE FROM THE USA, AND 8 WERE INTERNATIONAL. ARTISTS ARE CHOSEN BY BLUE SKY'S VOLUNTEER EXHIBITION COMMITTEE AND REPRESENT A WIDE RANGE OF STYLES, SUBJECTS, AND EXPERIENCE. EXHIBITIONS ARE ROTATED MONTHLY. ARTISTS ARE OFFERED A $750 STIPEND, AND CAN RECEIVE ASSISTANCE FRAMING WORK FOR THE SHOW AS NEEDED. BLUE SKY ALSO OFFERS EACH ARTIST THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRODUCE AN EXHIBITION CATALOG, AVAILABLE IN THE GALLERY AND ONLINE AS A PRINT-ON-DEMAND BOOK. MOST ARTISTS OFFER THEIR WORK ON VIEW FOR SALE. THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST PHOTOGRAPHY VIEWING DRAWERS FEATURE ORIGINAL PRINTS BY CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHERS BASED IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)THIS UNIQUE PROGRAM ALLOWS BLUE SKY TO CONTINUE ITS STRONG SUPPORT OF REGIONAL ARTISTS. EACH SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHER SHOWS 10 MATTED ORIGINAL PRINTS THAT ARE KEPT IN A VISITOR-ACCESSIBLE ARCHIVAL DRAWER FOR ONE YEAR. LIKE OUR EXHIBITIONS, MOST OF THE DRAWERS WORK IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 42 ARTISTS IN THE DRAWERS. BLUE SKY SELECTS A GUEST JUROR EACH YEAR TO CURATE THE PROGRAM. SERVING APPROXIMATELY 22,000 VISITORS ANNUALLY, ALL BLUE SKY EXHIBITIONS AND PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE. APPROXIMATELY 70% OF VISITORS ARE FROM THE PORTLAND METRO AREA, WITH THE REMAINING 30% FROM NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS. A STRONG POOL OF 75 VOLUNTEERS AND INTERNS HELPS WITH ADMINISTRATIVE AND EXHIBITION TASKS.
