Mission

'Sharing God's blessings by helping others in need.' is the mission of Lutheran Community Services. Many of those in our community are living in poverty -- 25% of the population of Wilmington and 12% of the population of New Castle County. We believe that each of us is responsible to help our less fortunate neighbors as much as we can. When it was founded in 1959, its original focus was on the independent living needs of seniors. Today, LCS provides a much broader range of emergency services and continues to development new programs based on the needs of the communities it serves.
