Museum/Displays Construction & Repair: Completed construction of separate 42 ft x 80 ft Morton Exhibit Building w/ Electricity and Concrete Floor. Constructed water and sewer lines to Shop, restroom in Shop, and Equipment Wash Pad. Completed inside exhibits on "2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 137th Infantry in Operation Spartan Shield," "Weapons in the Global War on Terrorism," "35th Infantry Division in Operation Spartan Shield, and exhibits in Exhibit Building. Accessioned 58 artifact collections and collections for exhibit and storage, added 33 document files and document boxes to the Museum Library, cataloged and filed 49 additional library books and CD's, placed several new prints on exhibit, and made minor improvements to many exhibits.Replaced six exhibit storage containers with new cabinets, which can be better climate-controlled and locked.Accessioned a L-19 Bird Dog airplane and an OH-23 Raven helicopter from the Field Artillery Museum at Ft. Sill, OK. Obtained additional weapons and accessories from the Military Police Museum at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, the 1st Inf Div Museum at Ft. Riley, KS, the Ft. DeRussey Museum in Hawaii, and other museums.Refurbished the M-170 Litter Jeep, the M38AI Jeep, the M-416 Trailer, the M151A1 Jeep, the CH-54 Skycrane helicopter, the L-19 Bird Dog airplane, and the Museum grounds Gazebo. Began refurbishment/painting of the M-20 Command Car and the OH-23 Raven Helicopter.Converted all exhibit case lighting to LED lighting.Used donated labor for construction, lawn care, maintenance, exhibit construction, etc.Constructed additional storage and re-organized storage in Basement Storage Area, re-inventoried, and reorganized both Museum libraries.Participated in Visit Topeka and Topeka Assn of Museum Educator activities, including several tourism promotions.
