Mission

To provide free trips for United States Veterans of World War II, the Korean War, the Viet Nam War and Purple Heart recipients of any war, to Washington DC to visit the memorials built in their honor. We conduct other functions to encourage community participation so others may hear and learn from these veterans' stories.

Including 120 Veterans in 2019, High Plains Honor Flight has taken more than 2720 veterans from World War II, The Korean War, The Vietnam War and Purple Hear recipients from more recent conflicts to Washington, DC to visit the Memorials built in their honor. This trip is no cost to the Veterans. The charter flights began in September 2008 and with the additional flight in 2019, now total 22. This is an all-volunteer effort with over 1000 volunteer Guardians making these flights to assist the Veterans. To further honor these veterans and facilitate community involvement, High Plains Honor flight has conducted, sponsored or participated in approximately 10 events, breakfasts, dinners, parades and holiday ceremonies in 2019 where HPHF Veterans were honored by the public.
